How to Get Rid of Toenail Fungus

Although rarely painful, a toenail fungus infection can be an unsightly sight. Toenail fungus is a common problem that can result to the discoloration or malformation of the toenails. If left untreated, a it can lead to cracked, crumbled, or dead toenails. What's worse is, aside from being gross looking; toenails infected with fungus can also give off a bad smell. It's no wonder why people who suffer from this condition would badly want to get rid of toenail fungus.
The best way to get rid of it would be to prevent them from occurring in the first place. People who are not fond of wearing shoes are not that prone to developing toenail fungus. This is because the inside of a shoe provides the perfect environment, conducive to fungal growth. One is darkness that is given by the shoes and the perspiration from the feet.
Now, wouldn't it be great if you could just do away with wearing shoes-that would avoid infection from occurring. But that would be impossible. So instead of not wearing shoes, you can do other preventive measures.
Remove your shoes as soon as you can and wipe your feet dry. Wearing 100% cotton socks would also help prevent fungal infection, as these socks absorb most of the moisture. You can also find certain medicated powders which can prevent fungal growth-you can use them every time you wear shoes.
If you already have toenail fungus, there are topical treatments you can use to get rid of them. There are over-the-counter creams and ointments which you can purchase without the need of a prescription. Over-the-counter medications are usually effective for mild and moderate cases of infection.
Severe toenail fungus infections usually don't respond to topical treatments. You may need to see a doctor so that you can get prescriptions for a stronger medication. Your doctor might suggest a topical medication with a stronger solution, or if this doesn't work-an oral anti-fungal medication might be needed. The bad thing about oral anti-fungal medications is that they sometimes have bad side effects. You might want to ask your doctor about such side effects before taking them.
If none of the previous treatments works, your doctor might suggest toenail extraction. Removing the infected toenail would surely get rid of fungus. However, not all people are open to having their toenail removed. This should only be considered as the last resort.

Sean Mize - narrative Marketing For the Long Haul

Note: This is the author's eleventh teleseminar record from the "Seminars with the Experts" series hosted by Hilary Stewardson.

In January 2006, it all started with a simple four-point strategy and the discipline to make it work:
Write an e-book that habitancy want. Put up a website that offers the e-book for sale. Drive traffic to the website. Rinse and repeat above cycle.

Sean R Mize

Sean Mize used the above formula to build his Internet Marketing presence. Nothing special, right? However, his traffic generation formula of option raised eyebrows. Instead of using pay-per-click (Ppc), crusade motor optimization (Seo), or video marketing, Mize turned to record marketing.

Sean Mize - narrative Marketing For the Long Haul

By writing five articles daily and submitting them to the best record directories on a consistent basis, Sean Mize's traffic steadily grew along with his master status and marketing credibility. After incorporating list-building into his marketing equation, Sean's earnings results took off. His regular issue of e-books in the competing and crowded Internet Marketing niche, coupled with a laser-focused advent to relationship marketing has proven favorite with his subscribers.

Why record Marketing Works.

Mize feels that record marketing is misunderstood by most people, and its effectiveness severely underestimated. In response to those who reconsider it out of place in today's fast-paced digital environment he offers its core premise:

Article marketing is first and foremost a traffic generator. Period.

Commit yourself to optimizing all aspects of your writing (i.e. Niche selection, Keywords, Title, Body, resource Box) so that readers take you seriously and want to come back for more.

Doing It Yourself, for Yourself.

Some reconsider Sean Mize's use of record marketing stealth, cold, and ruthless. However, nobody can deny his results. In two years, Mize claims that 80% of his five-figure list has been build through record marketing. Needless to say, he continues to write for traffic. Yes, it can be time-intensive and costly (e.g. Ghostwriting), but there is no such thing as absolutely "free" traffic.

Mize is skeptical about record generating and submission software tools. You cannot automate record marketing, but if you commit to a well-planned and disciplined approach, the results can be phenomenal. reconsider record rewrites for uniqueness and complicated submissions; instead of outsourcing Mize suggests taking the time to do it yourself, then test and track the results to make tactical adjustments.

"Affiliate Marketing is a Crutch."

Sure, habitancy can make money - even a steady earnings - by promoting other people's products. However, Sean Mize's philosophy focuses on construction Me Inc.; after all, if you are ready to devote time and vigor (and money) for others, why not capitalize on those resources yourself?

Making your own products establishes credibility like no other activity. An primary contribution within your chosen niche can build your reputation and earnings concurrently. Digital product creation in singular is well-suited for new entrepreneurs (short start-up time, low overhead, no corporeal catalogue issues etc.). Yet before embarking on serious projects, ask your list subscribers what they are struggling with in their businesses, and what you can do to help them move forward.

Sean agrees with using ethical bribes, i.e., free reports and e-books, to obtain a prospect's feel information. However, he reminds us to use "Thank You" pages that offer subscribers a ability product immediately after they opt in to your newsletter. Embrace the concept of product funnels to enable you and your subscribers to build mutually beneficial relationships.

Two Internet Marketing Curses to Avoid.

Mize defines Internet Marketing feel by the estimate of earnings a man has generated through legitimate and quantifiable online activity. In fact, if you do not presently make a consistent k per month, Sean considers you a beginner!

So how do habitancy graduate to the next level? For starters, Sean suggests that you minimize:

1. Facts Overload. It is a disease that will sap your productivity and innovation. Seriously, you cannot read every book, join every coaching program, or effect all the experts out there. Therefore, limit your instant messaging and e-mail activity to one daily session. Be severe about the estimate of lists you subscribe to. Ask yourself: Is this relationship necessary to me? If not, unsubscribe...Fast!

2. Communal Networking. Still too early to judge Web 2.0's effectiveness as an earnings generator. However, Mize is a salutary skeptic of its usefulness. Without conclusive proof that solopreneurs can use Web 2.0 properly, and its reputation as a broad time waster, good stick to reliable traffic methods like record marketing that work for your long-term growth.

From record Marketing to an All-round Skill Set.

Once you have mastered record marketing-based traffic generation, Sean Mize suggests that you take a serious look at the other Internet Marketing pillar.

Copywriting is necessary for long-term, online income. Reports of its imminent death are exaggerated. As a core Internet Marketing skill, we all need it. Yet, hardly anyone truly gets it. So, even if you plan to outsource, learn how to distinguish good copy from bad. Ideally, build your own skills by purchasing templates and observing what victorious marketers' do. Test your early results, then conclude if outsourcing is right for you.

Sean has largely foregone primary joint ventures (Jv) in favor of ad swaps with marketers with whom he shares a base outlook. Apart from being a "free" way to gain new leads, Mize prefers this networking formula over live seminars and conferences. The high attendance cost and preparation time connected with events should motivate folks to lope cautiously when invitations come. He does, however, approve of hands-on workshops that motivate participants to act.

Conclusion.

Sean Mize has integrated record marketing, list building, and product creation like no other in Internet Marketing today. Nothing comes easy, but if you are averse to the latest fads and willing to try a legitimate formula of traffic generation, effect Mize's blueprint for success:
1. Drive traffic to your squeeze page with record marketing. 2. Build your list and generate relationships. 3. generate products that satisfy a hungry audience.

Backlinks Bring Traffic to Your Blog

One of the best ways to bring up your hunt engine rankings, and bring traffic to your blog, is by having a lot of back-links. A back-link is a link on man else's website to your blog. There are many ways to get back-links to your blog, you can write and submit articles to directories and other websites, you can write and submit a press release online, or you can plainly post comments on other blogs which will then link back to your blog. Other ways to get back-links is to link all of your blog to one an additional one and to link up with other blogger's sites for the mutual advantage of all of you.

Article Submissions

Sean R Mize

There are many places online where you can submit a short (400-600 word) non-fiction article about something you know. This article could be your first blog posting, it could be something you come up with just to post on an article directory website, or it could be an article you have man else ghostwrite and then release under your own name. This is one time where having other people write for you probably isn't a bad thing. As long as the article is good and sound it nothing else but doesn't matter if it was written by you or a ghostwriter you hired to write it.

Backlinks Bring Traffic to Your Blog

Submitting an article to an online article directory is free, simple, and easy. plainly turn one of your blog posts into an article which can stand alone, and then submit it to the article directory of your choice. (Some favorite ones are Articlealley.com, Contentdesk.com, EzineArticles.com and Goarticles.com.) There are also self-operating submission programs you can use to submit your articles to many article sites all at one time.

Attached to your article will be a "byline." Your byline will contain information about you and a link to your blogs and other websites. You could have your byline read something like "Jane Smith is a programmer by day and blogs on horses at night. See her remarkable programming website at http://www.iprogram.com and read her blog at [http://www.besthorseblog.com]." This example byline just created two back-links for every time you release the article; one to the programming site and an additional one to the horse blog. If you post this article five times on the web you have ten back-links to your sites.

Also, many article sites allow you to release non-exclusive proprietary articles on their sites. This means that you are free to post the same article on other article sites as well. Each time you submit the article you build links to your site. In addition, other bloggers and webmasters will link to these articles on their own relevant sites and that creates even more links for your site as well. By submitting articles to article directory websites you can build links nothing else but to your site to growth your hunt engine rankings.

Press release Submissions If you were to start a small home business, one way to receive free advertising for it would be to send a press release to your local newspapers. Online there are a few press release websites where you can submit a free press release about your new blog or website. (The two most favorite are prweb.com and prfree.com.)

To make a press release, plainly write up a short statement about how awesome your newly launched site is and post it on the free press release websites. Make sure to have a link to your site in your press release and you have just created one further back-link for each site you submitted your press release to. Press releases are a great way to get links without a lot of work. They can be short and to the point. Blog Directory Submissions Just as there are directories online for e-mail address, phone numbers, and other information, there are also directories which contain blog listings. These blog directories are websites where people can go to find a whole list of blogs on any exact topic of interest to them. The hunt this directory, just like a hunt engine, and the results page is one of blogs which are on their topic.

Submitting your blogs to directories will help you to get both back-links and more readers to your blog. Both results will help with your hunt engine rankings as well as your AdSense ad revenue.

Comment on Other Blogs

Another way to generate back-links to your blog is to post comments onto other people's blogs and websites. If you leave quality comments then people just might want to find out what else you have to say on your own blog. If you leave comments on an additional one Blogger blog, then your catalogue will show up and your comments with automatically link back to your own blog. Readers of the blog will read your comments and click on your link to see what your blog is all about.

Some people will post a short message about enjoying a blog and then ask the blogger to check out their own blog and contain the link to their own website. By plainly leaving a spam message of "hey check out my blog" you will likely irritate people and not gain readers. Leave quality information and people are much more likely to check out your blog. You all the time want to make sure you are adding value to the web, not just out advertising your own blog to make money. Team Up With Other Bloggers Teaming up with other bloggers can be a great way to get links to your blog. You can have a one-way back-link to your website, or you can have reciprocal links. A reciprocal like is where you link to someone's site and they link back to yours in exchange. hunt engines prefer back-links over reciprocal links, but any link is good than none. And, the more links to your blog, finally the better.

Many bloggers have formed what is called a "blogroll." A blogroll is a list of links to other blogs with similar topics of interest. This allows blogs to have back-links to them and also allows you to advertise your blog to the readers of all of the similar blogs. Blogrolls can be a great way to get new readers to your blog and to raise your hunt engine rankings at the same time.

Another thing bloggers will often do is trade posting message with an additional one blogger. This trade of message posts is called "guest blogging." Suppose for a moment that I have a thriving blog on work at home opportunities. an additional one blogger who I found online has a blog on stay at home parents. We could trade posts where I would allow her guest post on my blog about stay at home parents in replacement for my guest posting about work at home opportunities on her blog. We swap "guest" posts and each includes a byline with a link back to our own blog or website. I have a back-link and she has one as well.

By teaming up with other bloggers and guest blogging in this way you can have entrance to the loyal readers of an additional one blog and they will have entrance to your blog. Because, in the example above, our blogs do not directly compete with each other for readers, we can be an added assistance to each other and to our respective readers. We can both build up our readership and also generate some links to our site at the same time. This is a win-win situation for everybody complex in it.

Finding other bloggers to guest blog with is not difficult. If you take the time to fabricate a good blog, with quality content, then other bloggers with good quality blogs will want to replacement links and posts with you. The good your blog, the good guest opportunities you will have!

Creating a high quality, accomplishment resume is essential to getting a job in today's tight job market. As jobs come to be less plentiful, employers can afford to be more choosy, and that means you need to take advantage of every occasion to outshine your competition.

So what exactly is an accomplishment resume?

Brett Ashlee

Rather than listing the boring, tasteless tasks and duties that typically fill a normal skills resume, this document showcases your unique skills and abilities through visible examples. As such, it allows you to effectively differentiate yourself from other job applicants who are simply listing tasteless skills on their job application materials.

The Accomplishment Resume - Why You Need One

Employers are interested in hiring the best person for the position. Their objective is generally to increase or enhance the company's products, services, reputation, or financial profit. Letting a potential employer see how you have done these things for others gives you a exact advantage over others when it comes to being excellent for an interview.

Consider the differences in the middle of the following statements:

Example #1

General Job Skills Statement
- Managed current club memberships and enrolled new members as needed.

Accomplishment Statement
- Facilitated a company-wide training seminar that increased employee-referred new club memberships by 25%.

Example #2

General Job Skills Statement
- Responsible for monthly customer billing.

Accomplishment Statement
- Assisted with conversion from paper-billing to computer-based billing to maximize workflow efficiency and eliminate costly billing procedures connected with customary paper billing.

Rather than listing mundane tasks and duties, they specify an prominent action you took, and the corresponding advantage for the company.

Did the Hospitallers and Templars Hate Each Other? Who Owned Krak De Chevaliers?

One of the questions that has rung down through the ages is;

"Did the Hospitallers and Templars hate each other?"

Battle Of Tripoli

The reply is no, they emphatically did not. The association was like that of two big, aggressive brothers who would quarrel, occasionally resort to fisticuffs, but who had great respect, one for the other. When Philip the Fourth of France, in his unspeakable greed, persecuted the Templars for their wealth, and put extreme pressure on Pope Clement the Fifth for their dissolution at the Council of Vienne in 1312, the reaction of the Hospitaller knights was one of horror.

Did the Hospitallers and Templars Hate Each Other? Who Owned Krak De Chevaliers?

Among other things, they stated that the Templars were 'a great and noble Order.' Mark you, the Hospitallers did very well out of the Templar demise, since they were given a great deal of Templar property. There's some seminar here among scholars, about either those Templars who escaped persecution, or who lived to tell the tale, undoubtedly joined up with the Hospitallers.

Some say that many of them freely joined, while others insist that they were strictly forbidden to do so. Personally, I think it was a bit of both. They were forbidden, but heads were often turned the other way.

But the question, 'did the Hospitallers and Templars hate each other,' has forced us to digress and leap ahead of ourselves.

We've noted that the Blessed Gerard, the first specialist of the Order, died in 1120. While the Hospitallers weren't a recognized forces order at that early date, nevertheless they may well have supplied armed escort for pilgrims travelling the perilous road from the coast to Jerusalem.

On the other extreme, the first time mention is made of a Marshall, who served just below the specialist in rank and was in charge of all forces affairs, was in 1160.

But when we ask the question; 'Who owned Krak des Chevaliers?' the reply is the Hospitallers, who were given this magnificent fortress by Raymond the Second, Count of Tripoli in 1142.

Now, it's pretty certain that Krak wasn't going to be used as a hospital! Therefore, we can be certain that the Hospitallers were a forces Order at that time.

Their other major fortress was at Margat. In the 1170s, it was under the control of Reynald the Second Mazoir, of Antioch. However, in 1186, his son sold it to the Knights of the Hospital, for it was becoming far too costly for the Mazoir house to keep up.

The Hospitaller dress was a black sleeved surcoat with a white cross on the front. This tended to restrict their movements in battle, but it wasn't until 1248 that Pope Innocent the Fourth popular ,favorite a red surcoat with a white cross emblazoned on the front.

The Battle Rages in Libya

The battles have grown in earnest in Libya. Muammar Gaddafi, seeing his grip on Libya slipping away, has stepped up his offensive, launching an attack on the oil and port city of Berga early in the morning. The protesters fought valiently as gunfire ripped through the night air to keep the pro-government troops at bay. All this as Gaddafi, in other speech of unimaginable confusion, claimed that there was no opposition to his rule and that the uprising was at the hands of foreigners and a conspiracy of the west. And yet photos from of protesters keeping signs refuted this maddening delusion.

Later in the day, as the protesters were celebrating an leading defensive victory, fighter jets bombed the town, with some correspondents of Al Jazeera on hand to peruse and spectacularly photograph the explosions. Four citizen were killed in the attacks and many more were injured, and the terror of the ever-looming air troops spiked in the hearts and minds of those in opposition-held areas, including Benghazi. When an where, they authentically wonder, will the next air raid come?

Battle Of Tripoli

Wednesday, a day which was stamped with events of significance around the world (including a lethal attack on American soldiers in Germany and the suspected murder of a leading activist in Saudi Arabia at the hands of state security), found the world's eyes squarely fixed on the unfolding events in Libya as the protesters prolonged to fight long after that lethal air raid, and news of the region prolonged to surface throughout the afternoon through assorted news sources and the internet.

The Battle Rages in Libya

Among the news was the capture of a pro-government commander in Misurata, including his communications equipment (which was of American origin), and battles that prolonged to be won against a sporadic but near constant offensive by pro-Gaddafi forces. At the Tunisian border, the urgency of days past also seemed to lessen, although conditions prolonged to be poor and the government threatened to forestall refugees from fleeing the country. And mercenaries, paid by Gaddafi to fight against the protesters, have prolonged to be captured in larger numbers, with Al Jazeera reporting a total of in the middle of 50-60 this week.

And yet reports were not all in favor of the opposition. Twitter posts have reported family members of those in Benghazi who continue to reside in Tripoli are being captured, and prolonged evidence of torture by the Gaddafi regime are being uncovered by protesters. A funeral was also held today for man who died in an attack that he should have survived but for lack of permissible and adequate healing care, and Al Jazeera has reported that Gaddafi troops are "throwing patients from windows," kidnapping children, detaining activists, and starving prisoners to death. And late this evening, an unconfirmed distress call has surfaced online purported to be from Berga warning of an impending "massacre" at the hands of truckloads of mercenaries, starting for deliverance from God.

The United Nations, the Arab League and the African Union prolonged to deliberate the possibility of enforcing a no-fly zone in the air space above Libya to safe protesters. And the International Criminal Court launched an introductory investigation into possible war crimes committed at the hands of Gaddafi, with a promise for additional details to be released tomorrow. And world leaders are taking ever stronger stances against the intense violence as the protesters additional organize, grow in estimate and strength, and get ready for an all-important offense that must come soon to liberate Tripoli. Gaddafi's rule, it seems, may be nearing its end.

And yet, so much fighting is yet to come. Where peaceful uprising prevailed in Egypt and Tunisia, it seems distinct that the citizen of Libya will tragically have to buy their relaxation with blood, thanks to the madness of Gaddafi, who seems article to die. The hearts and minds of the world, desperate but unable to meaningfully help, will be watching anxiously as the citizen rise, take their arms and tell this ruthless dictator that has ruled for four decades that they will no longer stand for his tyranny.

The rest of the Middle East, and alas the world, should take observation and take heed; nothing, not even oppression and violence, can stand in the middle of the carefully and undaunted masses when the relaxation they crave is at hand.

Occult Magical Talismans and Charms Revealed

Both the philosophers Pythagoras and Plato understood the power of numbers and magic in the aged times in which they lived. They knew the value of sound, color and form and out of these, and other studies of Masters of Magic and Art of past times comes the gift day charm and talisman.

The aged magicians, for example, knew that black and white stood symbolically for life and death and day and night durinal time. Yellow and orange signified intuition, red was for life and passion. Blue was for intellect.

Deaths Reveal Town

From aged times all magicians have used color and the vibrational numerical power of names in order to carry out their "Talismanic Art." This is the occult, or private guess why Talismans embody numbers, symbols and signs of language.

Occult Magical Talismans and Charms Revealed

Although talismans are conception of as being something from aged times they are in fact incorporated into the fabric of our modern world in so many ways. There are many talismans that population wear weather an Egyptian black cat of the goddess Bastet, Eye of Horus, an Ankh, scarab etc. Even the act of crossing ones fingers for luck is a "Talisman" of sorts. The first finger being the finger associated with Providence and protection and the second with fate and misfortune. And keeping one's fingers crossed is one form of aged voodoo for averting the evil eye.

However few population are ever inspired to wear evil talismans on their person. This takes us back to the philosophers of the early days who were all the time thinking in terms of goodness in life and the overcoming of evil forces straight through good influence.

Here are a few examples of charms and talismans used, as well as their functions:

Arrow heads: have served as charms since aged times. The earliest were made of flint, but modern ones can be made of gold or silver and worn by men as a badge or by women around the neck. Their chief use is to ward off the evil eye and to protect the wearer from evil intentions. They are especially suitable for Cancer and Sagittarius people.

Axes: Somewhat similar to arrowheads and they have the same signification, but apply more to population with Aries and Libra sun signs.

Heart: To wear a heart as a mascot is a relic of the Egyptian idea which was that people's hearts were to be weighed at the resurrection and those proving satisfactory would be appropriate into heaven. The more modern interpretation is that the heart is a symbol of true love and these are given as a sign of genuine affection. They should be made of gold and are fortunate for Leo and Libra people.

Owl: the owl is a bird symbolizing knowledge and common sense. To wear this is to attract these things. It is also a good symbol for those who are curious in education and learning. It should be made of gold or silver or copper and will apply more to Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn people.

Knot: a knot stands for joining of things and hence knots have long been used as symbols for lovers. It can be made of gold, silver or platinum and favors Gemini and Pisces people.

Four-Leaved Clover: is a charm of Irish origin. Each of the four leaves has a separate meaning. The first leaf on the left of the stalk helps to bring fame; the second, sharp clockwise assists in gaining wealth; the third to the right of the stalk, brings a particular lover and the fourth brings robust health. This charm is best if it is made of tin or alloy and enameled green. It is chiefly associated with the signs of Cancer and Pisces.

The Horseshoe: is a well known bringer of good fortune, but contrary to the favorite belief the points of the shoe should point "up" so that the luck does not run out, the points should unmistakably be downwards for the symbol is taken from the Moon's North and South Nodes, the North Node, who's symbol looks like a downward facing horseshoe, is a fortunate Node and the bringer and maintainer of credit and reputation. And the South Node (like a horseshoe facing up) is a "loss" of credit and reputation. This influences the planet Jupiter, the planet of luck, and is associated with Sagittarius.

Occult Magical Talismans and Charms Revealed

Death Valley National Park

We recently took our first trip to Death Valley. I say, 'first' because we're certainly going back. Expecting to find a large, brown, desolate and boring expanse of desert, we instead found a huge diversity of attractions with explosive colors throughout. Although we went in the Spring during the peak season for desert regions, the park is so large we often found ourselves to be the only ones exploring sites. At over 150 miles in length and 60 miles wide, Death Valley contains a immense dry sea bed, a meteor crater, dirt roads for off-roading, hundreds of miles of hiking trails, silky sand dunes, slot canyons with walls towering over a hundred feet above, ghost towns, geological wonders and even a castle.

There are some options for stay within Death Valley. The Furnace Creek Ranch Resort is situated at the eastern entrance of the park and offers an Inn, hotel and some campgrounds. Both the Inn and hotel have swimming pools. The Stovepipe Wells Resort is the central hub of the valley accessed from the western entrance and offering a hotel with pool and campground. At the far west entrance is Panamint Springs which offers a motel and campground. Many other campgrounds are available throughout the park and are on a first-come, first-served basis. From our observation, the Furnace Creek Campground seems to be the only campground offering an fullness of shade-bearing trees. Campers are welcome to use the group showers and pool at the adjacent ranch for a small fee. Furnace Creek Ranch is the place to be for all the comforts you could expect along with a golf course, post office, museum, visitor center, gas & aid station, grocery store & gift shop, restaurants, bar, horseback riding, bike rentals, jeep rentals and more. We dined one night at the 49er Café expecting mean food and poor aid since every table was filled. What we got were huge, flavorful meals and superb service. Next time we'll dine at the steakhouse next door, which we assume has steak meals that are over-the-top. The Inn is roughly a quarter mile down the road from the ranch where the hotel resides. The Inn offers the most luxurious stay in Death Valley and features amenities like a restaurant, bar, pool, tennis courts and more. all at the Inn is positioned for fabulous views of the valley. Jeep rentals are also available directly over the road from the Inn.

Deaths Reveal Town

There are so many sites to see in Death Valley you could spend a week there and still not see all you'd like to. There are 92 miles between Scotty's Castle and Badwater, both being Death Valley's largest traveler attractions. There is no group transportation principles within the valley, which can in effect start to add up in fuel costs. We propose segmenting the park into the number of days you plan on staying. For instance, on the first day, head south to Badwater to walk over an endless salt flat and be able to say you were 282 feet below sea level. On the way back, stop off for a short hike to Natural Bridge or Devils Golf Course, or take the one-way paved loop straight through Artists Palette for some colorful desert scenery. If time still permits, check out the Harmony Borax Works Interpretive Trail for a history lesson in the mining of borax from Death Valley, and/or head up to Zabriskie Point to drive the one-way dirt road straight through Twenty Mule Team Canyon. Your second day could contain areas surrounding Stovepipe Wells. These sites contain the sand dunes, Charcoal Kilns out of Wildrose, a hike straight through Mosaic Canyon and if time permits, the one-way drive straight through Titus Canyon, which is a 20-mile dirt road that winds straight through a slot canyon with towering cliffs and a historic ghost town midway. Your third day could contain a trip north to Scotty's Castle, Ubehebe Crater and the 33 miles of dirt road that leads to The Racetrack, a geologic phenomenon of traveling boulders that still confuse scientists to this day. We've skipped many sites in this list but these seem to be the most popular.

Death Valley National Park

When traveling and exploring in Death Valley, don't forget to take water - It's a Must! Even if the hike is only a mile, take water. Plan to carry adequate water in your vehicle for at least a day. Now consider a breakdown and add that much more water to your supply. This desert will make every exertion to break your vehicle and/or kill you. We were surprised ourselves when we ventured out onto the sand dunes on a 90 degree day at dusk, how fast heat exhaustion set in. We concept we were only going to hike over a incorporate dunes and the sun was setting so it would only be getting cooler, so we didn't take water. When out there, we got caught up in how fun it was hiking straight through endless hills of sand and trying to get that excellent photo. By the time we turned colse to to go back, we were getting thirsty. By the time we reached our vehicle, headaches were setting in and we needed water bad. Luckily we did have water in the truck, but on a 100 degree day this could've been a serious situation.

Death Valley is in effect accessible from Interstate 15 or Highway 395. It's less than a six hour drive from Los Angeles. From Interstate 15, you can either head north on Highways 395 out of Adelanto or 127 out of Baker. We found the 127 route to be more visually spicy and good way to avoid the steep grade of the western entrance. If arriving from the north, the 395 is in effect your only option. Head east on Highway 190 out of Lone Pine for a straight shot in. Be ready for a long, steep climb at one point reaching an 8% grade. Many visitors come to Death Valley for an after-winter dry out and warm up. It's the excellent place to visit if you're from a cold or wet climate. Spring is the best time to visit in the first few weeks of April for the 'Desert in Bloom'. The park begins to book up nearly 6 months in improve for these weeks. Fall is an excellent time for the same temperate climate but less people.

Flight Death Statistics

South African aviation authorities are bringing new innovative methods to the table in an exertion to spare the business an additional one killer month. The sector got some unquestionably bad press in October, with seventeen accidents claiming close on thirty deaths, production it the deadliest month for aviation in South Africa.

'Killer October' takes its toll

Deaths Reveal Town

To put these incomparably high figures into perspective, only 8 accidents were recorded for the full twelve months of last year, but 2006 was regarded as one of the blackest years in aviation as there were over 50 accidents spellbinding light aircrafts.

Flight Death Statistics

The Civil Aviation Authority has earmarked factors that are largely responsible for this frightening increase in flight fatalities, with pilot errors and gaping holes in training being the customary culprits. Other contributing factors are

Poor pilot attitude - over-confidence being a major issue Pilots neglecting to take the weather into account Unnecessarily low flying Pilots having inadequate or no pre-flight training Aircraft overloading The flagrant disregard of standard or safe operational procedures
Caa seeks solutions

Fortunately, all of these problem areas can be adequately addressed and the Caa is doing just that. A Central Aviation Strategic Initiative Committee has been set up with business heavyweights to address and seek solutions for the high accident rate.

Their most recent contribution is a Dvd that clearly outlines the common mistakes made by crew that have resulted in accidents. The main aim of the committee is to yield pilots with adequate skills and resources so that they are able to make the right decisions in an emergency.

Light, fixed-wing aircraft most vulnerable

What is spellbinding is that every single one of these accidents has taken place in light aircrafts. In fact, the last South African Airways casualty was the ill-fated Helderberg in November 1987. Prior to that only three other accidents were recorded

April 1954 when a de Havilland Comet went down in the Mediterranean Sea March 1967 in East London, when a Vickers Viscount crashed April 1968 when a Boeing 707 went down near Windhoek
Only 2 deaths attributed to helicopters

It is foremost to differentiate that, of the 17 accidents recorded in the month of October, only five of them involved helicopters and only two of these accidents resulted in death. Not one of these accidents occurred in the Western Cape.

A game ranger fell to his death from a Jet Ranger A pilot died when he flew his Raven 44 into power lines A Robinson R22 was damaged when the tail rotor hit an anthill while training An Alloette Ii went down when the learner pilot lost operate on landing A Robinson R44 was damaged in training when there was a loss of tail motor thrust

Statistics have revealed it is far safer to enjoy helicopter flips in and around Cape Town than it is to fly in fixed-wing aircrafts, so make for the whirly bird instead.

The First Crusaders and Jerusalem the Holy Land

After a long, dangerous and hard journey, the First Crusaders ultimately reached Jerusalem in the summer of 1099 and took it. The final consequent of the First search was the establishment of four Latin "states" or "kingdoms" in the Middle East: the County of Edessa, the Principality of Antioch, the County of Tripoli and the Kingdom of Jerusalem. These first crusaders took on the fastener of the cross.

"The Art of the Crusaders in the Holy Land, 1098-1187" examines the art and architecture produced for the Crusaders in Syria-Palestine while the first century of their quest to recapture Jerusalem. It was the innovation of Pope Urban 11 to furnish penitential warfare with the charismatic penance of the pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Agreeing to Fulcher of Chartres, Pope Urban promised the first crusaders that 'all who die by the way, either by land or by sea, or in battle against the pagans, shall have immediate remission of sins. The canons of the council summarized the offer made by Urban Ii as he launched the First Crusade. Whoever, for devotion alone, not to gain honor or money, goes to Jerusalem to liberate the Church of God can substitute this journey for all penance. Thus, apparently they were development an expedition to Jerusalem; in reality, however, they wanted to divest the Emperor of his kingdom and take Constantinople.

Battle Of Tripoli

Serious problems faced the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem after the First search and before Saladin's victory at Hattin. A good brief catalogue of the First search from Pope Urban Ii's call at the "Council of Clermont" in 1095 to the Crusaders' capture of Jerusalem in 1099. But the Crusaders cause, to capture and hold Jerusalem for Christendom, was all the time a dubious one, and the century (almost) of Frankish rule in that city was initiated by a massacre and punctuated by assorted acts of perfidy, war crimes, and wanton aggression. What distinguishes the Crusades is that they were not fighting for the particular interests of their fatherland or their family, but for a cause, Jerusalem, the True Cross, salvation, with universal significance. The same year, the second crusaders started off and captured Antioch in 1098 and Jerusalem in 1099.

Silica Properties

Silica is the most popular mineral which we can get in large quantity on the outside of the earth. Most of the minerals found on rocks include silica as its main component. There are many sources where silica can be gift i.e. On huge hills, quartz crystals, sandstone, quartz sand also known as silica sand, quartzite, Tripoli, flint, opal, diatomite etc. Also you can find them in chalcedonic forms such as onyx and agate and so on. Nearnessy of silica varies with the colour i.e. They are found in yellow topaz also known as false topaz, purple quartz, milky quartz which is also known as rose quartz and also in smoky quartz. In the introductory stages of building pottery and silicate glasses, silica is used. The two forms in which silica can be obtained are crystalline forms and also in amorphous form also known as vitreous silica. They can also be found on silicon compounds or silicon's outside in the non crystal form.

Crystalline silica can be classified in three separate forms namely, tridymite, quartz and cristobalite and these crystalline forms comes in two separate forms i.e. Low and high. Fused silica is the only pure silica with nearby 99.4 - 99.9% of silica gift in it. This fused silica is in general used in industries dealing with electronics and they are made by plasma arc, carbon electrode fusion or gas fired continual extrusion and carbon arc. Because of its high insulating and dielectric properties, roughly 70% of the electronics industries use fused silica in its experiments. Some of them also use fused silica in investment casting or as a refractory material as when kept at high temperatures it has a capability to gain back its strength.
The main properties of silica are:

Battle Of Tripoli

1. It is a good electrical insulator.
2. Thermal stability of silica is very high.
3. Has a high resistance to abrasion.

Silica Properties

Production of silicon:
Most of silicon is used in the yield of steel by development them as silicon manganese or ferrosilicon. By mixing the gaseous compound of hydrogen and hydrogen chloride and powdered crude metal, we can make semiconductor silicon.

Electronics industries mostly use silica in its working. The main areas in electronics industries where silica is used are:

1. Circuit boards: Because of insulating and dielectric properties, fused silica is most widely used in electronic circuits.

2. Semiconductors: Its internal electronic buildings makes it a good semiconductor and that is the presuppose why they are used in applications related to integrated circuits.

3. Refractory Materials: it has a capability to speak its drive even at high temperatures and because of this property they are used as a good refractory material. This is in general because silica has very high melting point, has very high abrasion resistance and low thermal expansion.

4. Production of glasses: silica is the traditional material used in the yield of silicate glasses. They are either mixed with soda and lime which produces normal glasses which are used in windows, jars, bottles, plate glass and light bulbs. Also we can make shock defiant glasses when silica is mixed with soda and boron oxide.

When a believer begins their Christian journey, he or she must get ready to do battle in a dying world. Because the believer is no longer a learner of the world, there is a godly strategy that will govern the Christian plight. The believer's mind most be transformed in order for his or her actions to convert (Romans 12:2). The most effective way to live up to the challenge is the Word of God, a diligent prayer life and the coaching of the Holy Spirit. The Word of God gives correct, brief instructions on how the believer should live in this world. Straight through a diligent prayer life, the believer is able to show adoration to our heavenly Father, confess his or her sins, express eternal gratitude, and petition the Throne of Grace with all requests and concerns. The Holy Spirit is the "personal trainer" who will lead, instruct, and convict the believer throughout the entire journey (1 Corinthians 2:12,13).

Fight On The View

Even though there will be bumps and bruises throughout the believer's life, Jesus Christ promised to be in their "corner" until the end (Matthew 28:19, 20). The believer is a world over comer and a born winner, but he or she is still thinkable, to get ready to be a worthy ambassador of Christ to the world. As the believer faces battles or challenges, he or she must remember that spiritual making ready is the key to durableness in a dark, cold world.

The Whosie-Whatsit War - How the French and Indian War Shaped US History

To call the French and Indian War America's "forgotten war" would be misleading, since that doesn't leave any good nicknames for the Barbary Wars, the War of 1812, the Spanish-American War, the Philippine-American War, or the Korean War. Otherwise, the title fits; the hugely influential French and Indian war, fought between Britain, France, several Native American nations, and the colonials, is responsible for the fact that, among other things, the US is down here and French Canada is way up there.

Up until the war started in 1754, Britain's then-small strip of North American colonies was hemmed in on all sides by the Atlantic, the French to the north and west, and the Spanish down in Florida and parts of Georgia and Alabama. In fact, more territory in what is now the US had been claimed by France than by Britain. Imagine a French modern-day Missouri. Or Kentucky. Or Minnesota, don'tcha know. In the meantime, the Native Americans remaining in the areas had been forced to take sides - though many groups, such as the Iroquois League, made the most of the encroachment by negotiating secret agreements with both parties.

The Barbary Wars

The trouble all started when a dispute arose over the Ohio Valley area. In 1753, at just 21 years of age, George Washington was assigned by the British governor of Virginia to go tell the French to skedaddle. With no military training or prior experience, he led his men through 500 miles of wilderness to complete his mission - only to be rebuffed by the French. Within a year, he was ordered to return to the Forks of the Ohio to build a competing British fort, only this time, he would be accompanied by Tanaghrisson, governor of the Delawares, Shawnees, and Mingos of the Ohio Valley. Along the way, Washington entered into a skirmish with the French just outside of modern-day Pittsburgh. The British won and everything went swimmingly until Tanaghrisson decided to slaughter the captured French officer and his wounded soldiers during negotiations.

The Whosie-Whatsit War - How the French and Indian War Shaped US History

Thus (unofficially) began the French and Indian War, which would ultimately result in the British takeover of all French territory in North America. The Brits fared horribly for the first few years due to an arrogant unwillingness to align themselves with natives and an overall snootiness toward their "inferior" colonial subjects. (Note to self: ranking colonial officers below British infantry is not a morale booster.) Actually, Britain's decisive victory couldn't have been achieved without the fact that Prussia happened to invade the Austrian protectorate of Saxony in 1756.

Before you start getting any wild ideas about Chaos Theory, keep in mind that Britain and France were engaged in the Seven Years' War back in Europe, and that Prussia and Austria were British and French allies, respectively. Prussia's invasion therefore forced Britain and France to commit themselves to fighting on the European mainland, giving their colonial subjects more freedom to duke it out amongst themselves. By 1758, after Britain had done some serious rethinking of how to treat its colonials, so many eager North American troops had enlisted that Britain's forces swelled to 50,000 - which was roughly equal to the entire white population of the French territories. That, plus a little help from their ole friend smallpox, allowed the British to handily defeat its French and native rivals, winning Canada and all the land east of the Mississippi in the process.

In exchange for restoring Cuba to French-allied Spain, Britain also received the Spanish holdings in the Florida area. But according to Britain's Proclamation of 1763, all land west of the Appalachians was to be preserved as Native American soil. The British had hoped to stem the westward tide of colonial settlers, but instead, the Proclamation just pissed everyone off. Fortunately for the colonials, the French were pretty bitter about their North American defeat, which came in mighty handy when the American Revolution rolled around just over a decade later. And thanks to George Washington's intensive wilderness training, the rest was US history.

Alexander the Great

Alexander the Great, the moniker says it all really, doesn't it? On the day he was born in July 356 Bce, Herostratus burned down the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient World. Herostratus did so for no best infer than to come to be forever known, hence the Ephesians ordered that his name never be mentioned, Strabo however marked it down and so we know of Herostratic fame. But only barely, more importantly, the night it burned, Alexander the Great came into the world. Mystics claimed that Artemis was too preoccupied with the birth to save her temple, while soothsayers anticipated it as a sign that a force had entered the universe that would alter the world. That force was born in Pella, in the Kingdom of Macedon, the son of King Phillip Ii. It would appear that old Phillip bought into the whole divine providence confab with regard to his son, when the young Alexander managed to tame the wild horse Bucephalus, he exclaimed that Macedonia was too small for the boy. Lofty praise, indeed. Riding the tide of this vaulted perspective, Phillip sought out the best tutor for Alexander, he didn't do too badly, landing none other than Aristotle, the most mind on the planet. Classes were conducted at the Temple of Nymphs at Mieza, sitting on stony seats in the shade, Aristotle emptied his head to the young Alexander. Aristotle remained the boy's mentor for three years until Phillip called for the boy to act as regent in his absence, whilst he departed to wage war against Byzantium. Alexander was just sixteen when he was left in payment of the Kingdom of Macedon, roughly immediately the Thracian Maedi sensing an occasion revolted against Macedonian rule. Alexander however, was to be no push over, he crushed the revolt, colonised the area and established a city, Alexandroupolis which he named after himself.

His father King Phillip was over the moon, he placed Alexander in command of the Macedonian cavalry at the Battle of Chaeronea against the combined armies of Athens and Thebes. The battle was fiercely contested and was very much in the equilibrium when Alexander led a payment that penetrated the enemy lines. It tuned the tide and handed King Phillip Ii his finest hour as he stamped Macedonian control over Greece. He forced all the Greek cities to enter the Corinthian League, which was essentially an alliance which would wage war on Persia. However, before Phillip could reap the advantage of this alliance, he was murdered by one of his guards, leaving Alexander to take the reigns of power, he was only twenty. Despite his youth, he was far from idealistic and starry-eyed, he immediately set about murdering any rivals to the throne, together with burning alive his father's wife and child son. Additionally, he ruthlessly crushed revolts that had broken out attempting to take advantage of the muddled succession.

Battle For Tripoli

In 334 Bce, Alexandra crossed the Hellespont into Asia Minor at the head of an army of roughly fifty thousand men. roughly immediately he met an equally impressive Persian army dug in across the river at Granicus. Alexander was advised to go downstream to cross and strike the following day at dawn, but he was in no mood to hang colse to and he attacked immediately. Fortune favours the brave, the Persians were fully caught off guard and were fully routed, staggeringly Alexandra won the battle with the loss of a few hundred men while the Persians lost close to twenty thousand. Following the battle, Alexandra moved speedily with most cities surrendering without a fight while others he took by short and brutal force. It appeared that there was nothing he could not do, nothing that was beyond him, he solved the intractable Gordian Knot by naturally slicing through it, the soothsayers once again occasion the heavens to him, stating that whoever solved the riddle of the Gordian Knot would come to be master of all Asia. However, the Persians were mustering colse to their King Darius Iii in Babylonia, rumours were circulating that he had amassed an army of over half a million men and they were on the march towards Alexander's Macedonians. Fortunately for Alexander, the armies met at Issus, where the terrain made Darius' cavalry null and void. Still Alexandra found himself outnumbered roughly two to one by the mammoth Persian army, though the half million evaluation was greatly exaggerated, it was colse to one hundred thousand strong. It was constituted of pro Persian soldiers and Greek mercenaries, many believed that Alexander would be wiped out, having only faced local conscripts at Granicus.

Alexander the Great

Alexander annihilated the Persians, Darius fled the battle, leaving his men to be massacred, assuredly he also left his house behind. Darius' stepping back opened up the territory to Alexandra, and this was epic stuff, one of his generals Parmenion sacked Damascus and required seven thousand pack animals to bring the booty to Alexander. Already Alexandra assumed the title of King of Asia, Darius attempted to trade with him, granting him all lands west of the Euphrates, Alexander mocked the offer, claiming that all of Persia was now his. However, he did not pursue Darius immediately, the Persian fleet was still in control of the Aegean sea and the Hellespont which was putting pressure on Alexander's contribute lines. Instead, he moved into the Levant, taking the Phoenician towns of Aradus, Tripolis, Byblus, Beirut and Sidon. These towns had stood for fifteen hundred years longer than any Greek town but they fell without a struggle. Tyre however, stood up to the invaders. It was well fortified, built on an island, all walls were protected by the sea. Unable to storm it, Alexander blockaded it, Tyre held out for seven long and oppressive months. Alexander, bursting with impatience, built a causeway with debris from the abandoned the city on the mainland. Then with his siege engines, he breached the fortifications and put the city to the sword. The fall of the Phoenician towns gave control of the Mediterranean to the Macedonians, they romped their way towards Egypt only being held by the siege of Gaza which lasted for four months, furious at the delay, Alexander killed every male in the city, dragging the Persian governor behind his chariot, as his ancestor Achilles had done to Hector. In 332 Bce Alexander strolled into Egypt, the Egyptians seeing him as a deliver from Persian rule. It would appear that Alexandra had something of a holiday in Egypt, he visited Memphis, went on a pilgrimage to the oracle of Amun at the Oasis of Siwa, oh and he also established the city of Alexandria.

He raided the supreme wealth of the Egyptian coffers, and was ready in 333 Bce to renew his invasion of the Persian Empire and the chase of Darius. The two were to meet again at the Battle of Guagamela, once again Alexander pummelled his opponent and once again Darius deserted the battle-field. Alexander sauntered into Babylon. From there, his army marched into the centre of Persia and by 330 Bce they stood in the Persian capital, Persepolis; it had taken one hundred and fifty years but the Greeks had avenged the sacking of Athens by the Persians in 480 Bce. Indeed, before leaving in chase of Darius, Alexander had the city burnt to the ground. However, before the self styled Son of Zeus managed to catch up with him, Darius had been fatally stabbed by one of his satraps, Artaxerxes V, who assumed control of the beleaguered kingdom. It was if Alexander's life was scripted, his scouts came upon Darius as he lay dying, Alexander later claiming that Darius had named him as the rightful successor to the Achaemenid throne.

Bizarrely, Alexander now set about avenging his arch-enemy, Darius' death. He realised that to have peace in the West of the Empire, he would need to wipe out any burgeoning powers that were latent in the East. His army was no so impressed, some of them had being fighting for the guts of two decades, they were battle-fatigued and longed for home, the last thing that they wanted was to march additional into the interior, into lands that they knew nothing about. To compound their discomfort, Alexander was starting to adopt Persian habits and customs; his men began to worry that he was turning native; in addition, Alexander began to setup Persians in his court. Nevertheless in the late summer of 330 Bce, the Macedonian army was once again on the move, traipsing East in chase of remaining belligerent Persians. Alexander began to act the part of the schizoid, paranoid dictator; he began ridding himself of threats that were not that evident. He had his most trusted normal and oldest ally, Parmenion and his son Philotas who had been commander of Alexander's elite murdered. Like a man possessed, Alexander pushed on into modern day Afghanistan with a virtual city on the move consisting of sixty thousand men. Alexander marched them across barren wilderness, waterless deserts and snow blocked mountain passes. They achieved it though, wiping out any additional resistance and reached the end of Asia, at the border with Europe Alexander established Alexandria Eschate, meaning the furthest Alexandria, which is present day Khodzent in Tajikistan; it was five years since the Battle of Granicus. Many of the men had been with Alexandra all that time, one, Clitus had saved his life at that battle, but while a drunken discussion Alexandra ran him through with a lance, killing him. Initially, Alexandra was inconsolable and suicidal but one of his philosophers, Anaxarchus comforted him, telling him that the King was justice and therefore could not act badly. Maybe it was not the best advice, Alexandra bought into it and from then on he acted like a divinity and could no longer be disagreed with about anything.

Alexandra was far from finished, he now turned his concentration to the Indian sub-continent, he steamrolled into India with two armies, massacring anyone who stood in their way. In July 326 Bce, Alexander's armies met the army of the King of Paurava, Porus at the Hydaspes River. Porus was a giant of a man and he dealed out a savage fight, only narrowly losing, whilst inflicting serious damage upon the great Macedonians. Alexander so admired the fight in Porus, that he allowed him leave and granted him lands in neighbouring kingdoms, indeed, later Porus allied with Alexander in his additional Indian conquests. However, Porus had inflicted a serious psychological blow upon the invading army, when Alexa nder announced that he wished to march East of the Ganges and fight the great Nanda Empire of Magadha and the Gangaridai Empire of Bengal, his army that had being through thick and thin revolted, refusing to budge an inch. Alexander was forced to back down, realising that the writing was on the wall, that his men were longing for home, and so he put plans in place to return. It was decided to march the army to the western coast of India, assemble ships and transport some of the force back to Persia, over water. As they made their way to the coast through the Indus region of India, they encountered the Mallians who engaged them in battle, in which Alexandra suffered serious wounds. Eventually, they reached the coast, colse to a quarter departing on the ships, while Alexandra led the rest of the army across the Gedrosia Desert to begin the long trudge back to their homeland. When they reached Persia, Alexandra began to demobilise much of his force, replacing them with Persians who had being trained in Greek tactics of combat. The demobilised men were shocked that Alexander was replacing them with Persians, the very people with whom they had being fighting against for a decade. They had put up with Alexander's quirks and oddities but to them this was a step too far. However, once again Alexander managed to appease them, assuring them that although the Persians would form the backbone of his army, the Macedonians would be the overseers and administrators of the Empire.

In the spring of 323 Bce, Alexandra arrived in Babylon, he received ambassadors and consuls from all colse to the known world, eager to cut deals and alliances with the son of Zeus, the most great man in the world. In addition, Alexander was planning on additional conquest and domination, targeting all of Arabia and setting his sights on Carthage, Sicily and Italy; Alexandra desired the world. However, the unthinkable occurred in June of 323 Bce, Alexandra died, it turned out that he was a mere mortal, but what a mortal...
